Sandwich, With a Side of Romance by Krista Phillips

Quote:
She moved to Sandwich, Illinois, in search of a new life, but ended up in a giant pickle.

Sandwich represents hope for twenty-year-old Maddie Buckner and Kyle, the eleven-year-old brother Maddie wants to spring out of foster care. Then she loses her new job after less than an hour on the clock. It’s all Reuben-the-Jerk’s fault, and she’s determined to make him right the wrong.

He does so, reluctantly, by giving her a job at his restaurant, The Sandwich Shop. Then crazy things start happening at the restaurant, and Kyle’s foster parents apply to adopt him. To stop it all, Maddie must learn the art of humbling herself and accepting the help God has arranged, risking her heart to Reuben in the process.

And she’d rather eat a million corned-beef on rye sandwiches than do that.

I was thinking the same thing - but I'd be buying it for the Tina Folsom story. It's part of her Scanguard Vampires series, of which I've read the first 3 and enjoyed them. I don't really know any of the other authors.

Thanks for the heads up, it sounds like a great deal! I preordered it on Kobo, I didn't know you could even preorder from them!?

I do not like this.
I am still totally confused. So does that mean one has to use a credit every 30 days of your membership isn't valid anymore? What happens with the unused credits then. . There have been times I didn't get a book for 2 months, 3 months with a credit and then used a few at once.

No, it means 30 days after you run out of credits. Your membership stays active for as long as you have credits remaining, plus an additional 30 days.

Ah, thanks. . Brain not working today.

And today has been a good day for free and bargains it seems. Well, good if I had more time in the day to read all these books I am getting.

And a big thanks to everyone here for all the work you put in to list these books. It really helps narrow it down a bit.

Pink Slips and Glass Slippers [Kindle Edition] J.P. Hansen (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Pink-Slips-Gla...154606011_f_82

Quote:
Brooke Hart was beautiful, smart, and groomed from birth to deal with adversity.

Her widowed father did his best to raise his baby girl to be a strong-minded business woman. Then she found Tanner. Just when her world seemed perfect, everything turned upside down. Following Tanner’s tragic death, Brooke joins a start-up company that is developing a cure for the disease that killed the love of her life. Just before the treatment is ready to market, the company is gobbled up by a giant conglomerate. She moves to the acquiring company as its youngest VP and becomes enamored with CEO Chase Allman—only to be betrayed by him. Brooke rebounds again and sets out on a personal journey to discover what will truly make her happy. Sparks fly when she and Chase cross paths again in an unlikely way. Now, they need each other to find an abducted child and save thousands of people.

*******REVIEW********
“Wow! This was such a terrific treat to read. I enjoyed every minute of Pink Slips and Glass Slippers and literally could not put it down – I gobbled it up with the compulsion and ease of one of my favorite beach reads, except I did not feel empty when I finished reading this novel—I felt warm inside, and inspired. The prose is wonderfully rich, sensual, and precise. The dialogue is outstanding—vibrant and life-like.

Author J.P. Hansen makes this a compulsive read, keeping the momentum at full speed. The plot weaves with new obstacles and unexpected events and I loved the “scenic” (filmic) style of the writing. The reader is never bored, always kept guessing and entertained. Well done!”

-Sophie Powell, Professor and critically acclaimed author of “The Mushroom Man”

*******REVIEW********

What happens when a woman wed to her past meets a man “too sexy for clothes”?

A rollicking romp through Pink Slips & Glass Slippers by J. P. Hansen.

A page turner, this romantic comedy has more twists and turns than a corkscrew roller coaster.

Try it. You’ll like it.

-Marilyn Coffey, Pushcart Prize-Winning Poet and pioneering feminist author of the novel "Marcella"

***FINALIST IN THE FOREWORD MAGAZINE BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARDS IN THE ROMANCE CATEGORY!***

Lust by Moonbeam [Kindle Edition] Cynthia Sax (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Lust-by-Moonbe...154606011_f_96

Quote:
Cathy arrives at Moonbeam, the Roswell of the North, with one goal--to prove the mysterious dead tree circles are not caused by UFOs. Meeting a devastatingly handsome lumberjack with unusual blue and green eyes is a bonus. He thinks he's an alien, but that doesn't bother Cathy. She can tolerate a little crazy in a one-night stand, especially since Rellec claims her body as no sane man ever has--with the hungry touch of forever.

Rellec arrives at Moonbeam with one goal--to retrieve his assigned mate, ensuring the continuation of his species. Having trained long and hard for his erotic mission, he is determined to satisfy his tiny human female and overcome her objections with out-of-this-world passion.

Failure is not an option.

Here's a link to her website [since now I'm mad at myself for not realizing she had more books before so I went searching for info ]

BTW I broke down the other day and bought "Falling into You' by Jasinda Wilder and am reading it right now, wonder if you did too?
Hmm, I don't much care for YA. I like the transitional period that NA represents and I'm really enjoying most of the books I'm finding in that category. I'll just wait for her new stuff, especially Be With Me.

I haven't bought the Wilder book yet. I've put myself on an ebook-buying budget this year, and I'm waiting for March to end so I can start a spending cycle. I'm also hoping it'll go down by at least $1 by then (or a good Kobo coupon will come along )

For April spending, I'm also looking at The Stillness of You (recommended over in the open thread at Dear Author) and Relentless (I liked the sample).

Are you playing the Kobo Trivia contest? I've been having major luck getting good coupons with it. Like I need more NA to read but now I have to check out the two you mentioned.

Currently reading Crow's Roe even though I am told it doesn't have a happy ending. It reminds me of KA's Unfinished Hero series. The heroine makes Anastasia Steele look intelligent! I can only hope Emily has a OMG I'm so outta here moment before the ending. The writer is supposedly writing a sequel which will be very interesting. This sequel has been coming now for about two years. How do you justify these two together is a seriously challenge even a season writer would have trouble proving.

I'm playing! So far I got two 20% codes, which I posted in the Kobo thread, and one 10% I threw away. I'm holding out for 35%+. Last contest they had, I got a 45% off coupon

I'm reading my first Kristen Ashley, Mystery Man; I'm just past the 75% mark and I'm drained Too, too much drama, though not off-putting, which means I'll want to continue the series

I am reading her books in order so I got to finish the Rock Chick series first. I don't think she will have book 8 out anytime soon which is why I stop reading to wait. It seems the Hot bunch makes appearances in her others books. So in order to move on I got to finished Book 6 and 7 then I'll start the Dream Man series which is what KA recommends to read next.

I'm one of the OCD readers and must read a series in order. I read Sweet Dreams first which got me hooked but now I need to reread and see what I missed once I get to the Colorado series.
