A Murder of Quality by classic and much-adapted espionage thriller novelist John le Carré (SYKM, Wikipedia) is the 2nd in his George Smiley series starring the eponymous famous future Cold War spymaster, this installment a vintage non-espionage satirical murder mystery set in the 1960s before the height of his career and involving the investigation of a mysterious death at a boarding school, free courtesy of publisher Penguin, who are reprinting from its original 1962 Gollancz edition.

Although this is relatively obscure compared to Le Carré's famous spy thrillers, it's still been adapted a time or two for TV and radio which you might have seen (Wikipedia). It's also got a new preface and afterword by Le Carré himself.

Currently free @ B&N UK, Amazon UK, iTunes UK, Kobo (available to the UK, but apparently not in the other EU/Oceania countries which sometimes also get the UK freebies when I spot-check the usual iTunes & Amazon regional stores, though YMMV), and probably also Google Play UK, which I can't easily check from Canada.

Unlikely to cross the pond in any direction. We rarely get Penguin freebies to begin with, and the transmigration rate for UK freebies is pretty low anyway. Not to mention, this exists in slightly different regional editions from various local Penguins worldwide, it would seem.
