Highlighting and annotating PDFs with KPW1

Can you highlight and annotate a DRM free pdf document with KPW1? If you can, how do you copy pdf to another Kindle with the highlight and annotation intact? I assume that you can't back up those highlights and annotations to the clouds since they are not Amazon ebooks.

Another question: can you find a definition of a word in a pdf document with the built-in dictionary?

Thanks in advance.

Yep works, but as you suspected, you cannot copy them to another Kindle easily (perhaps you could copy the respective annotations file and the other Kindle would recognize it) and annotations of PDFs will not transfer to the cloud, even if the PDF is stored in the cloud...
However, annotations made in PDFs will be stored in a txt file (myclippings.txt, where each and every annotation that you make on the Kindle is stored) which you can upload to a service like clippings.io which sorts the clippings according to book and location and lets you copy and export text...
Dictionary lookup is no problem. If the PDF contains text and not just images (this of course if important for annotating the file as well), you can look up words in the dictionaries and Wikipedia.
Enjoy!

I would add to what johnny said, though, that the Kindle doesn't support PDF reflow, and most PDFs are formatted for a much larger screen than the Kindle has. This makes attempting to read a PDF on the Kindle a frustrating experience, and one which in all honestly I wouldn't recommend.

If reading PDFs is important to you, a large-screen (9" or larger) tablet is far, far better than a Kindle.

What Harry says... If you plan on purchasing a device dedicated to reading, get a tablet... If you want to get into reading PDFs on your Kindle because you don't want to take your tablet everywhere, give it a try... Most single column PDFs read quite well in landscape (they are also automatically cropped) and the built in engine is quite fast and reliable for an eink device (I think in terms of reliability and speed, Kindles are the best eink PDF readers)...
