Bas Group acquires e-reader producer BeBook

Good news on the bankruptcy front. This released today.

Bas Group acquires e-reader producer BeBook

Computer and consumer electronics (r)etailer Bas Group, who successfully operates the retail formats Dixons,Dynabyte and Mycom, has announced today that it will acquire e-reader producer BeBook. Bas Group believes that the brand BeBook shows a lot of potential to grow even further, on both the domestic market in the Benelux as in other countries.

BeBook, with its sophisticated products of high quality and excellent customer service is similar to Bas Group, a Dutch company that has been selling its products on an international scale. Steven Bakker, Ceo of Bas Group: "we are proud to add a well known e-reader brand as BeBook to our range of products. We believe that BeBook will be a big success now and in the future. The e-reading market is strongly developing and we believe that BeBook will be a huge asset for Bas Group in this market".

Steven Bakker: “We have seen a rapid demand for tablet PCs but beside that we can also see the e-reading industry growing separately along side it. We believe that e-reading offers consumers a whole different experience. With its paper like display, specially designed for reading BeBook offers consumers this unique experience, both for reading fanatics as for leisure readers”.

The acquisition does not have consequences for current BeBook customers, their warranty will remain valid.

This should ensure that the old official forum will remain in operation. I will continue with the new unofficial forum for the time being just to be safe. Please feel free to join both.
