KOBO AURA DELETING & LIBRARY PAGE TURNING
Does anyone have problems deleting books direct from their Aura EReader after having read them? I usually have a large collection of books loaded & wish to delete each book after I have read it, but have a problem deleting them. Despite touching in the correct area, I usually have a few tries before any deletion & with some books, give up after a dozen or so attempts. All I get is the book opening & then me going back to Books for yet another attempt. Very frustrating. Similarly when I have say 25 pages of listed books in my library to attempt to page through them is pot luck. Sometimes a swpie pages forward, sometimes backwards & their doesnt seem to be logical swipe area or direction to consistently go one way through the library. Any help would be appreciated, as I am not sure if it is my Aura or a general problem. { I do not have a screen protector fitted]. Thanx

This is a question about Kobo eInk devices, and has therefore been moved to the appropriate forum.

No problem here. Just to check - do you have any issues with your hands or your co-ordination? Are your hands unusually dry or calloused, such that capacitive touch screens and you may not always get along? Have you tried using a capacitive stylus?
For the first issue, are you long-pressing for long enough for the menu to come up, without letting go or moving? For the second, all I've ever had to do is swipe straight across, forward or back. Make sure you're not swiping diagonally at all. Be absolutely sure that you're not inadvertently touching the screen elsewhere at all so that it detects a double-touch and gets confused. If it was a different Kobo I'd also say "clean it, especially the nooks and crannies, with compressed air" but the Aura has a flush screen. Have you done the usual generic trouble-shooting steps: fully power off the device and back on, etc? |

Also, when you have a book list displayed (not inside a book) swipe up/down can also be used instead of swipe left/right if you prefer.

Thanks so much for your help. I never realised that you had to hold the press down until the menu came up!! Yes, it works & I am very pleased and less frustrated. Re page turning, I cleaned the screen, made sure that I wasnt swiping diagonally & again it worked perfectly. So 100% improvement & my grateful thanks.
