Kobo H2O Page Turning - Tap or Swipe?
Hi, I can't find if the Kobo H2O can turn pages with a tap - as opposed to a swipe. We like the Kindle PW2 and the ability to tap to the next page.

Yes, you can tap to turn the page.

Since I believe the firmware is the same across kobo's devices, and I can tap to turn pages on my Glo, that the answer is yes.

There are alternate tap zone configurations but I haven't found them that useful -- see the attached screenshot. |

I mostly hold my devices in the left hand (though I am right handed) so I always select the right-hand configuration on your screenshot for tapping with the left thumb. Should I occasionally need to turn pages with the right hand, I swipe, which can be done on either side of the screen or, better for minimum errors, along the bottom edge.

Oh why couldn't we have the top to page forward and the bottom to go backwards.

Jon. When I hold the reader one handed the lower right side is resting in my Palm, with my thumb on the bezel towards the top and my index finger rests along the right outer edge.
Now the only way to turn the page in one handed mode is to swivel my thumb down so it can touch the bottom of the screen. Compare this to the more natural motion of just moving either my thumb or finger slightly to the left so they can tap the screen. |

As long as we can swipe to change pages anyplace on the screen, I'm happy. I can do that with my 650 & T1 and it works very well. Doesn't matter which hand I hope the Reader or where my thumb is when I do the swipe.
So is there a swipe to change pages regardless of here the swipe is as long as the swipe is in the correct direction? |

Speak for yourself. When I'm reading in bed at night I hold the top and since I can no longer tap the top left corner (it just opens the top menu) I would love a top forward, bottom back option.

I wonder if switching the top and bottom can be patched to be switched for those that want?

You guys must have huge hands. I also hold my reader by the bottom corner and I've found that the new setting is pretty useless for me because there's no way that my thumb can reach to the top.

My guess is that if you like to page backwards and forwards a lot no option other than swiping is going to work well for you. I go forwards 99% of the time so the fact that I have to reach to get to a go back area doesn't bother me.
