USB OTG
Can somebody from happy owners test, whether the Cybook works with USB OTG devices like some PDAs or MP3 players? These devices can be a host for connected devices, but they provide only little power on the bus. It would be very nice to sync RSS feeds on a cellphone and create a book readable in Cybook.
Thanks in advance |

Derek, I think you misunderstood him. He knows that the Cybook is USB Client. He wanted to know what devices that are USB Host that would recognize the Cybook.
Answer: I don't know. Will the device take a USB flash drive? If so, it will likely work with the Cybook. |

However, those OTG devices would have to have some way of *creating* a txt, html, mobi or pdf file or the Cybook won't recognize it. I'm saying that a file will *have* to be created because as soon as the Cybook is hooked up to an active USB connection, it goes into 'Connected...' mode and it won't display anything else - or even respond to a button push (including power *OFF*) until it's disconnected. I just noticed that if you connect it only to a charger it goes to connected mode also which is iirritating since you cannot read while charging from a battery.

Well, PDAs have many capabilities to create TXT or HTML files (For example they can download it from internet ) but they have small, difficult to read screen. So pushing interesting text to cybook could be very nice.
Maybe, you could be nice and have a look, how much your connected cybook takes from the usb: connect your device and then in the device manager open the details for the USBhub. There should be a tab dedicated to energy consumption. Something like 100mA, or unfotunately more. |
