Just started on The Long Walk (Stephen King in his Richard Bachman days). Story is warming up, though I'm not that impressed with the narrator.

I have just finished The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (all 57+ hours of it) and have started on Birthright: The Book of Man.

I gave up on the "Blue Hour". I am listening to "Garden of Beasts" from Deaver - about a 1930's "Button man" (hit man) sent over to "touch off" one of Hitlers smarter minions. Well written with good characters.
My workout MP3 player is serving "The Eleventh Commandment" by Jeffery Archer. Not as rich or detailed but exciting. |

I'm reading The Grapes of Wrath on my iPhone in the car. It's extremely well read by Dylan Baker.
In the pool while swimming, I'm reading a Kris Longknife novel. Hardly Steinbeck, but fine for doing laps. |

I have an older iPod Nano, with a case from Otterbox and waterproof headphones. Case clips to swimsuit at the small of my back. The combination works very well. My wife also has a similar setup.
Makes a half hour in the Endless Pool something to look forward to, especially if you're in the middle of a good book. |

I'm currently listening to "Journey into Space"; classic BBC radio SF from the 1950s. Great stuff!

About to start Jo Nesbo's "The Redeemer", he's a new author to me. A recommendation from MR.

I recently listened to Ron Chernow's Washington: A Life Long, but well worth the listening. It went beyond the usual marble mask.
