Went to Kobo to get it. Price shown as free. Wen to check out, and they wanted to charge me for it. Said to myself: The hell with that! Went to Amazon and got it. I'm a regular VIP member, but I didn't want to step into any cow piles. And I'm not as nimble as I used to be. BUT: Thank you for the heads up. Got it from Amazon. Kobo worked for me too. Free book doesn't even go into the cart. It just gets added to your books.

There were talking trees in The Wizard of Oz. (The film: I have no idea about the book[s].) |

Seanan McGuire introduces us to a world which has talking trees, not talking trees in general.

That was Oz. This is the Up-and-Under which I suppose is first introduced in Middlegame. (This book is a book within that book.) So you're right there is an error. :P

It was the movie The Wizard of Oz (1939) that had talking trees; in the book the trees (not apple) were sentient guardians of the enchanted forest, but they while they could move their limbs and see and hear, they couldn't talk.
Many tweaks in the film, including the ruby slippers which were silver in the book. |
