# sign in a book name causes the TOC non-functional

I have found that if a html (zip) book name contains the # sign, converting the book to mobi or epub causes the auto-generated TOC non-functional.

# is the signal to use a named anchor:

Code:
MyBook.html#midchapter
A mobi expert will need to answer if book named 'door#1.mobi' would bomb the TOC generator

It seems to be happening only during the conversion. If I rename a mobi file with working TOC and use the # sign in the new name, the TOC is unaffected.

I just want to add that I do not complain about Calibre, I do not need to add the # sign in the names. I just report this here to warn the people.

I used the # in some names and after some time I've realized that the TOC did not work. It took me a while to find that this was the reason.

BTW, Sigil is doing it too when converting from html to epub...

It has nothing to do with mobi. A # sign in an html filename will cause problems, as # is a reserved character in html. Do not use # signs in html files.
