A 32" E Ink development kit is on sale for $3.500
Visionect introduces a 32" color/B&W E Ink development kit.
Prices : $3.500 at launch for the B&W version (2560x1440, 16-level grayscale), $5.000 from mid-April. $4.500 for the color 1280*720 version, then $6.000 from mid-April. Considering their 13.3" dev kit is available for $1.500, and Onyx is about to sell a 13.3" reader for a little less than half that price, we may be able to purchase 32" E-ink screens for less that $2.500 if a regular e-reader company was willing to take the financial risk of selling the largest screen to date. I would love to use such a screen with my desktop computer. |

If they can get workable colour (doesn't have to be perfect HD for movies etc), I'd be happy to have one for a monitor. Can't really see a greyscale monitor working for me, but this could (except the price of course). Good to see them tackling what should be ideal markets. If this also has a flexible substrate, with colour it would start to make sense for restaurants that have started using tablets for menus.

Kind of (in a strange way of course) reminds me of an old Hercules monitor I had once, back in the "AT" -(Turbo) day.

If you just want a 32 inch color monitor, go buy a cheap flat-screen tv.
