People run servers and the GUI on the same library simultaneously. Since the library isn't designed for concurrent access, bad things will happen.
Plus allowing CPU intensive tasks to be run from a web server is a DOS nightmare. Since your purpose for this feature, is to share your collection with people using kindles, simply make sure you convert books when you add them to your library. |

The reason for not doing it via the web interface is that if you ever run the GUI in parallel then you could end up corrupting your database as Calibre currenty assumes that only the GUI has write access. There is a road map item to remove this restiction but it is not there yet (or probably any time soon).

Ok, so that means the enqueueing mechanism can't share it's tread pool with the web server then correct?
