P.S. I always thought Android 3.0 Honeycomb was a brand name of my favorite breakfast cereal.
I didn't realize people ate the real stuff as a treat. |

I thought Google was discontinuing Android in favor of it's Chrome OS.

Totally non-tekky response but I'd buy anything with the name 'Kat' in it. Just saying.

I enjoy eating a Kit Kat now and then (once a year or so), but it isn't very appealing as an Android version name. Maybe that's because it's so darn HOT today where I live. All I can envision right now is a melty, gooey chocolate mess.

I guess I don't really care if Google wants to brand name Android versions. At least it is not quite as horrid as what many football stadiums have done. I prefer the traditional stadium names. |

Given the choice between a free OS, substantially cheaper hardware prices, KitKat being part of the logo of one Android release, and a proprietary OS, higher hardware costs and an advertisement-free iOS logo, I think I'm okay with the former! It's harmless and gimmicky, even a little fun.
(Isn't Jellybean a trademark, too?) |
