I would try to restore via sd card as explained here:

then flash latest sony firmware

then re-root.

finally: don't mess with system files next time unless you know what you're doing

regarding usb connection - it should be still thereafter rooting - just tap on the notification area (top bar of the screen) and then tap on "connect via usb"...

Hi, is this procedure valid with firmware 1.0.04.12210 ? In the wiki it says that it is not compatible by using the instruction on it, but what about the procedures uploaded in this thread?

Is there any other way to add the Recently Read book on fw 1.0.04.12210?

i just installed AMR and found out this option (recently read) can be changed on the reader settings with latest firmware.

Just flashed the recentlyread_v2.zip on firmware 1.0.04.12210, get stucked in the rotating arrow in boot. I should read the 3rd page before doing the flash.

Trying 1.04 sd recovery, spent 1 hour and the led was still blinking. Trying 1.03 recovery now, another 1 hour passed and led is still blinking...

ok, after a while I turned it off then on, the system is back on 1.04.
