And I bet "solidi" is the origin for "soldier", and "denarii" for the Spanish word for "money" ("dinero").

Absolutely right.

From the online etymology dictionary:

soldier:

c.1300, from O.Fr. soudier "one who serves in the army for pay," from M.L. soldarius "a soldier" (cf. It. soldato and Fr. soldat "soldier," which is borrowed from It.), lit. "one having pay," from L.L. soldum, from acc. of L. solidus, a Roman gold coin (see solidus).

Just wanted to let you know, Harry, that I downloaded all four volumes of this set and have put them all on my PocketBook 360, ready to read as soon as I finish off about 5 other books.

Thanks.

Hmm, I've been noticing Crutledge's versions of most of Dumas. Anyone know what the differences would be between his version and Harry's? Illustrated or not, or a different translation?

Crutledge's versions are straight conversions of the PG texts. Mine are proof-read.
