Eine kunterbunte Sammlung von Kurzgeschichten, die sich mit dem "Grotesken und dem Schrecklichen" beschäftigen; natürlich darf der eine oder andere mysteriöse Kriminalfall nicht fehlen. Sherlock Holmes werden Sie hier bestenfalls in einer "Gastrolle" vorfinden.

Nach Erstveröffentlichung in diversen Zeitschriften wurden die Geschichten 1908 unter dem Titel ROUND THE FIRE STORIES in London und New York herausgebracht. Eine Übersetzung ins Deutsche erfolgte im Jahre 1921.

Seitdem hat sich nicht mehr viel getan. Für das vorliegende E-Buch wurden die Texte komplett neu übersetzt. Falls Sie noch Anregungen zur Übersetzung haben, freue ich mich auf Ihre PM.

Ich glaube, du hast das noch nicht gelesen. Da du ja zu den engagierteren Forumsmitgliedern zählst, wäre sonst bestimmt die eine oder andere Meldung zu den teilweise haarstäubenden Fehlern gekommen.

Doch, wie geplant in meinem letzten Urlaub. Aber über Fehler lese ich kurzerhand hinweg. Lohnt sich doch nicht sich darüber aufzuregen, außer der Text wäre unlesbar geworden.

Die neue Fassung hole ich mir trotzdem.
