I feel no need to sell my printed books. Some of them have notes I've scribbled, which are interesting to come across years later during a re-read. Then I have books like the Illustrated edition of Longitude.
Plus, I don't feel compelled to purchase an e-book version of a book I already own. And not to re-ignite a piracy vs. purchase debate, I don't feel that owning a printed edition entitles me to find a "free" e-book version, anymore than owning an e-book version entitles to me shoplift a printed version from a bookstore. If a book I want to read is avaiable as an e-book, I'll buy it. If not, I'll buy a printed version. And if I own a printed version, then I already have the book and don't need an e-book edition. |
