Vocabulary builder worth the upgrade?

I love my gen1 Paperwhite, I am using it mainly for reading in foreign languages and the new Vocabulary builder feature is tempting me to upgrade. But this would be the only reason, so I am really hesitating.
So do you think the old model will get this feature in the foreseeable future?

Yes, almost certainly. If past experience is anything to go by, the new firmware features of the PW2 will be released for the PW1, and probably also for the Touch, some time in the new few months.

Thanks a lot Harry, that's just the answer I wanted to hear. I tend to shun upgrades, but this one really had me on the fence. So I'll wait and see.

I'd love getting that feature too. It would be a nice surprise to see it on PW1, because I don't really want to get a new e-reader.

I inactivated my Vocabulary Builder on my PW 2013 since almost all the words it picked up were common words like "the," "at," "is," etc. Only one out of every 20 words would have been important to me.

Every time one touches a word to make a highlight, that word gets picked up.
