Good news, everyone! (Wi-Fi only nook can be softrooted)

Hi, with official firmware 1.4 now supporting web browsing and directly jump to pages, can someone give me some idea exactly what specific benefits I will have for softroot? and in case it doesn't work out, can I go back to the official firmware again?
