Fleming Stone #1

Carolyn Wells penned an astonishing 61 books in the Fleming Stone series, from 1909-1942. Many of them are of the locked room or impossible crime type. I have appended the list of 61 titles, and their dates, to "The Clue", but not the other titles I am uploading.

Only about 20 or so titles exist, so far as I can see, in ebook form, mostly those in the PD in the USA found on Project Gutenberg, plus a few additional titles in +70 PD libraries.

In the course of the long series, Stone acquires a juvenile assistant, "Fibsy" (who appears in only a handful of early books); marries; but does not, it seems, grow a day older. He is a consulting private detective much more in the manner of Holmes than Sam Spade, and all of Wells' detective novels are "cosies" set in upper middle class East Coast USA society, mostly New York and environs.

The books I am uploading have the texts sourced variously, and then re-formatted with a consistent look; and with, wherever possible, scans of the original covers. (Few have dustjacket images, which are rare, specially in the early titles.)
