Thinking about buying BOOX Nova Pro 7.8 inch

So I was thinking about buying the BOOX Nova Pro 7.8 inch from Amazon US. Specifically this model.

https://www.amazon.com/BOOX-Nova-Pro...ct_top?ie=UTF8

I, however, have few questions before I jump on it.

1. I'm a university professor in the STEM field, and I would like to use it for reading papers, and taking notes at meetings, scribbling math when an idea pops up etc. I don't anticipate using it for browsing the internet (other than transferring PDF files etc.). What type of battery life can I expect?

2. Is 7.8 inch enough for reading and doing notes? I know 10.3 would be better, but I also want something that is more compact. Why does everyone think?

3. I read somewhere that it was priced at $299. Why is it then $319.99 everywhere I look? Have they increased the price?

4. The Amazon page says "Sold By Onyx and fulfilled by Amazon". Does that mean I can return it within 30 days and get a complete refund like other Amazon items? I know this may not be a question for this place, so I apologize in advance.

5. Anyone who has this model can talk about the pros/cons of this e-ink tablet?

Thanks.

So I ended up ordering the 7.8 Boox Nova Pro from Amazon. Can anyone tell me what any tips or tricks that I should do after I get it? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I have the Poke Pro, which I believe is very similar but without the stylus/wacom and 6". Love it, after being loyal to Kindles since their early days.

I use mine for reading articles/books/manga/chess for about 3/4 hours a day, the battery lasts about a week which I'm happy with.

I spent a lot of time trying alternatives and I recommend this software:
- play store, wasn't setup by default for me but was fairly easy to get it working
- android nova launcher if you want a minimal, very customisable homepage
- moon+ reader for books (the standard reader is ok, but I wanted more control)
- google drive for getting files on/off the device and management
- tachiyomi for manga/graphic novels
- pocket for easily switching between finding an article on another device, and reading it on the ereader

I also got a stand, and remote:

The remote is especially good for reading PDFs, as you want to easily page turn not scroll but generally it's more comfortable reading with one.

My son is getting a Nova Pro for his birthday next month.

You may now wish to drive over to the Onyx/Boox sub-forum for all sorts of threads related to your new device. (Buses leave every hour, if you don't have a car.)
