Virtualization of previous version(s) of macOS may be an option to maintain ability to run old apps. It’s explicitly allowed by Apple.

Also: you’ll be able to purchase fonts in App Store. I am looking forward to being able to use these in reading apps, etc.

It’s up to app developers to support import for the files they want to work with. Presumably most will add this capability quickly. |

My biggest worry is that Apple is going to use this as an excuse to eliminate personal ringtones altogether, forcing us to use the store to get new ringtones. Last edited by Dylrob; 06-05-2019 at 04:55 PM. |

That would require the developers of those apps to allow it, wont it? I currently use Anyfont to get fonts into the iOS system that I prefer to read with but not all apps respect that. Apple's own Books doesnt. It only uses a subset of its own fonts. Maybe that will change. Kindle app doesnt. Hyphen does. yada yada.

Mine would be opening ePub or PDFs or .mobi or .docx files from external storage, which I assume would work the same as opening from cloud folder via sharing. So this is a plus for doing that. What seems to be going away is ability to get content to 3rd party apps via iTunes. Unless that is supported by Finder somehow in Catalina: that would be ideal. |
