Smile Newegg selling Black Aluratek Pro for $119.99

Newegg has the Aluratek Libre Pro (Black) for $119.99 today. I am not sure how long the sale lasts.

Oddly, they have the Aluratek Libre Pro (White) for $159.99. If you are not picky about your case color, I think it is a great deal. $2.99 shipping, and in most states, no tax. Most of my orders from Newegg have arrived in 3 business days. While it does not mention it in the specs, one of the pictures with the listing shows the SD card.

I was waiting to get it on sale, and was lucky enough to see the Sears deal - however, with tax and shipping it came out to only $7 cheaper than this deal, including the $2.99 shipping.

RSCUDDER I followed your link and it also states within the same add that the unit is available in white - so I presume it will be at the same price.

Unfortunately, although that would be logical to me as well, I just checked, and the white Aluratec is still listed at Newegg for $159, w/ $2.99 shipping.

It is possible the Sears link posted may have both at the same price (although they have tax and higher shipping costs). As well, once Borders starts carrying it sometime in July, they may carry both at the same price - also $119.

I do find that the contrast with the black frame is more pleasant to me. The paper color is noticeably different, since it is an off white color, against the white frame, and to me that is a little distracting, whereas I do not consciously notice that with the black frame.

Ideally, I'd like there to be a firmware update allowing white text on a black background - but that is just a personal preference. And I expect there are firmware updates that are a little higher in the queue.
