It looks lovely, congrats.

I'm a chap but I might have to take up crocheting or knitting or something - it's supposed to be good for the soul, and you can make useful stuff too!

good idea i might do that if i dont find a button i like. i did a lot of different stitch was experimenting so i used sc, hdc, htc (half treble stitch), and back loops only sc, than i did Arcade Edge trim but instead of 5 dc in the 3ch hole i did 5 htc.

One day when I get around to it, I'd like to do one in yellow and make mini pineapples around the edge for decoration. The black leather cover would shine thru and really emphasize the stitching. And I like making pineapples, used to always have a doily-in-process in my purse... until Walmart started selling them for a buck. Didn't seem worth the trouble anymore.

Thanks for the K!

Of course it's worth the trouble DixieGal. I'm sure Walmart's doilies can't compare with the quality and elegant detail of a hand crafted piece made with your own hands. There's just no comparison. And don't you crochet simply for the pleasure of it?

I know whereof I speak. I crochet doilies (and many other things) simply for the fun and relaxation of it, just like reading. I've got dozens of completed doilies and I know that no store-bought one can compare to mine. I hardly ever use them (except for lining a basket or tray mostly) but I enjoyed the hell out of making them.

What about one of those magnet snaps? I just used some on a purse and they are nice. Might be a little strong though...

I love your cover. And the flower just makes it better!
