Kobo ignores a tap sometime (but registers it, annoyingly)
My only persistent issue with Kobo is that it would periodically ignore a tap to go to the next page. If it just didn't register it, it wouldn't be so bad, but it does register. Thus when I tap again (after waiting for ~5 seconds, to make sure it's not just slow) Kobo advances by 2 pages, so I have to back up by 1 right away. Annoying.
This happens with all FW versions out to date, and all file formats for books. Does anyone else experience this? Is there news of a fix? |

Mine does that once in a while. I bought a stylus on ebay to see if that makes a diff as I have long fake fingernails and that probably doesnt help lol

I don't think stylus is likely to help with this, because it does register the tap (thus another tap makes it go 2 pages instead of one). So it's not the touch detection that's screwing up.

Yes I have had this issue however for me it seems to have improved with the 1.9.11 update. I had been experiencing the "tap - no page change - tap again - go ahead 2 pages" every 5 to 10 pages a few weeks ago. It was so bad that I didn't like to use my Touch. I like to look up into the distance on a page turn (to rest my eyes) and so I often missed whether the page had turned once, twice or not at all. Talk about confusing!
However since updating I have only had a couple of double turns in about 5 books. What firmware version are you using? |

I find that if the tap doesn't cause the page to turn, I use the 'right to left' swipe and it advances only one page.

Thought I'd give a little update vis-a-vis previous suggestions.
I'm on fw 1.9.11 and just started a new book. Was fine for about 40 pages, then the missing tap thing happened 2x within 4 page span. The swipe 46jimbo suggested didn't help (tried it both times), still advances by 2 pages instead of 1. |

I think everyone will be mightily impressed with page turning improvements in the next update .

That's good to hear taming because I think I may have jinxed myself by claiming that it had improved with the 1.9.11 update!
It has come back again - not as bad as previously but I'm certainly noticing it again. |

Personally, I found it to be working best in 1.9.10, although that wasn't perfect either, but not too bad. 1.9.11 for me is very noticeably worse than 1.9.10, I find myself cursing out loud quite frequently about this particular "feature".
