New E-Ink “JustWrite” Film
E-Ink has developed a new technology they're calling "JustWrite."
Apparently they posted this video a week ago: https://vimeo.com/302455517/68dd578924 It doesn't use a TFT backplate and allegedly has close to a 0 ms latency. https://goodereader.com/blog/e-paper...ith-no-latency |

Interesting. If as they say "any surface, small to large, to be digital writing enabled." then I could see it being very useful. People could have it on the surface of say something like a clip board so that notes could be easily taken for writing projects or something like that for example. Just send it to yourself via wi-fi after you're done and erase the note via a touch screen area that is set apart for that and viola! an almost infinitely re-usable notebook kind of device.

Interesting, but the resolution looked pretty poor. The sample drawing had no fine detail. I don’t think that device would produce readable handwriting at a normal size.

Well it is still new technology as well. The 1st electronic tv system had a very poor picture but it did improve.

Ahh. It appears to be a e-ink version of the Magna Doodle.

Looks like a variation of the cholesteric LCD display that Kent Displays makes. They use it in the "Boogieboard" and other eWriters before.
Only difference is that Eink managed to make it look more white... |

I surely wish that they include the ability to toggle write/erase mode. Write with a stylus, toggle erase and use your thumb to erase mistakes, then continue writing. I bought a boogie board but without erase capability it wasn't much use.
