Creator mobi and prc question

I have used Mobipocket Creator to create a book, and the default end-product is in prc format. When I emailed the book to my Kindle Fire it looked perfect, except for one thing: I could see the cover in the general "docs" section, but could not see the cover when the book was on the carousel.

I wondered if this was because of the prc extension, and if it would correct if I put it in mobi, instead. I read somewhere (I believe it was on this site) that you could manually change the file extension from prc to mobi and it wouldn't be a problem. I tried this, and while the book still works perfectly, now I see the cover on the carousel, but can't see the cover in the "docs" section.

It seems that (unless someone can tell me how to make the cover show in both places), I will have to choose where I want to see my cover. I also plan to upload the book for sale, so I don't want any readers to have the same issues.

So, can someone please help me with the following?
1. How to make the cover show in both places
2. If I can't get it to show in both places, what is the preferred place for the cover to be shown - carousel, or "books"/"docs" section?
