Lightbulb Free (nook/Kindle) Black & Single: Who's Right For You [Relationship Psych Advice]

Black and Single: Meeting and Choosing a Partner Who's Right for You by psychologist and social worker Dr. Larry E. Davis of the University of Pittsburgh (faculty profile) is the updated 3rd edition of his apparently semi-classic relationship guide primarily oriented towards African-American women seeking better partners (but with plenty of useful basic advice applicable to partner-seekers of all genders, races, and orientations), free courtesy of publisher Agate's Nia Guide to Black Women series.

This is written in an interesting-looking combination of anecdotal self-help and pop-academic style, where the author draws on his psychological and social work experience to try and analyze a whole bunch of underlying societal root factors and cultural expectations for stuff (with journal references), and then give tips on how to deal with them, illustrating with real-life experience stories and such.

Currently free, probably just until the weekend @ B&N (may also drop in the UK) & Amazon (not available to Canadians, but also free in the UK). May also drop or already be free @ Google Play US, where it's been reported that Agate freebies have also been showing up in recent weeks. Interestingly enough, this doesn't seem to exist in the iTunes US store but does in the Canadian one (where these things don't go free anyway).

Description
Tired of having your search for a romantic partner complicated by the battle of the sexes? Let Dr. Larry E. Davis—a psychologist, social worker, and voice of reason—show you a better way.

Now in its revised and updated third edition, Black and Single has been the premier relationship guide for African-Americans for ten years. Filled with entertaining and thought-provoking examples from the real world of dating, it’s a practical, one-of-a-kind tool to help you find the partner you’ve been seeking.
