Content Azw3 not opening

I converted a Topaz ebook to azw3, and it doesn't seem to want to open when I click on it. The 'opening' banner comes up on the bottom of the book cover like normal, then the menu bar on the Kindle home screen goes blank and nothing else happens. Does anyone know what's happening?

How did you convert? Topaz -> pdf -> azw3? It will be a mess. Maybe it will work as pdf, but very image heavy.

Topaz->azw3. No pdf in between.

And how does it look on computer? Can you read it there? Is it text?

The topaz->azw3 looks fine on my laptop. I can open it with the Calibre ebook reader, and it reads like a normal ebook that started as an azw3.

Try again with converting azw3->azw3 or azw3->mobi. The Kindle is choking on something non-standard. And try deleting the corrupt azw3 directly from Kindle instead of from computer.

OK, so converting the azw3->mobi worked. I then converted the mobi back to azw3 and it opened fine on my Kindle. So the process for topaz ebooks looks like topaz->mobi->azw3 for them to work on a Kindle.

Interesting. Likely some advanced feature KF8 has over MOBI which the converter bungles for Kindles - maybe embedded fonts?
