Formatting for poetry

I want to publish some poetry. However, epub strips out all tabs and spacing. How can I format my epub books so that they keep the tabs and spacing I want? I have InDesign CS5.

You have to format it in the CSS styling. No idea how that works in Indesign.

Couple of links about formatting poetry for epub:

Formatting a Tail for EPUB: Concrete Poetry and Varying Screen Width uses the classic Mouse’s Tale poem.

Formatting Poetry for EPUB and Small Devices shows how poetry displays with a few different settings, and how to apply   instead of spaces between some words to make sure that if the lines break, they break where you want them to.

Most use Sigil.

I use vim (a text editor, much like Notepad or UltraEdit).
