eBates rebate for Barnes & Noble is at 8% right now - Nov 1
I have no idea how long this will last, but as of just now, Nov 1 in the US, the eBates rebate percentage for B&N is showing up to be 8%. The usual eBates rebate percentage for B&N is 4%, and 8% is double that, which is pretty good.

I know a few folks, at least, on this forum have mentioned they use eBates to get a bit more discount at B&N - and it's one of the few ways other than the B&N credit card to get any discount at all on agency titles.

Yeah, but e-books apparently don't get the cash back anymore. I just contacted ebates the other day about why none of my BN purchases from September had yet been credited, and they said e-books no longer qualify. And sure enough, if you look at the BN page at ebates, at the bottom under "special conditions," e-books are now excluded.

Major bummer.

OUCH! I hadn't bought any e-books from BN in a while, so I hadn't noticed the change. It'll definitely affect my decisions about where to buy...

It also says eBates are not available on customizable gift cards - isn't that pretty much all of their gift cards that you can order on line, since you get to pick the design and amount?

Major bummer indeed, but I'm glad to know. Thanks for the heads up. I don't know when/if I'd have noticed and it will make a difference.

Just checked Worldpoints. Their exclusions started Oct 20th for ebooks. It does say it will end Jan 1st for nook ereaders. Maybe the ebook rebates will be reinstated then.

Also just noticed that B&N updated their affiliate program Oct 17th. Items available for the 6% commission is listed below. I don't see nook books specifically in the list.

The customizable gift cards are different from the standard gift cards--like if you want a special photo on them, or a corporate logo. The ones you choose from the standard selections should be OK--at least they have been. I know that "customizable" exclusion has been there at least since last year when I first joined ebates.

Aaah, that makes sense - otherwise, why not just say "gift cards".

I just signed up and brought a stack of Criterion Blurays in their sale so I should get a rebate for those but I'm disappointed that they have stopped the rebates on ebooks just as I have discovered them

I DID get the eBate for the "standard" gift card - bought off their website. So, at least we still get something. But it was really nice (when buying for myself) to then get the eBate on the ebooks I bought with it too. Sigh...
