Its okay if you save the epub and reopen later and kerp the software running but if you do not save and reopen and just leave the epub open in Sigil for a week or more, you will have your /tmp files deleted out from under Sigil. This is expected behaviour on macOS and they do warn developers about it. There is a plist setting to change the time period before the auto-clean. Perhaps you have it set for something longer or it now defaults to something longer.

All I know is that I had the S&R issue through 0.9.13, and on the day I updated to 0.9.14, it disappeared.

Maybe it only persists on Mojave. I'm still on High Sierra.

At the end of the (work)day its a rule to have no unsaved data. There only computer program where its allowed to break this rule is Monkey Island.

And i didnt know theres a setting for this nor how i can change it.

Here is an old thread that talks about this issue on macOS and lists the program that does the cleaning and the associated plist file.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=273999

Not sure if any of this still applies in macOS 10.13+ but I assumed it still does?

Here is the .plist file and it exists on my dev machine still but it could be a leftover?

/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.bsd.dirhelper.plist

Dont know if that has been fixed in some prvious versions and discussed already (i skipped some versions in between) but 0.9.18 is showing the bold tag / font-weight rule correctly in the preview window (my older version didnt do that)

That was an older bug in QtWebkit (affecting Macs) that we'd patched in an earlier version. And then we moved on to QtWebEngine and it wasn't a factor, IIRCC.
