Thumbs up Sony`s neuer Reader "Daily Edition"

Hallo !

nun wurde also neben den zwei neuen Modellen Prs 300 und Prs 600 heute noch eine dritte Variante angekündigt, die es ( in den USA? ) ab Dezember geben soll: Der "Daily Edition" mit 7 Zoll und einem Touchscreen und er ist 3G wireless..... hoffe, die Oberfläche des Bildschirms ist von der Schärfe, Brillianz und Klarheit wie die des Prs 505 !

Schärfe: Leider ist der neue Reader wohl eher nahe am 700er seligen Gedenkens als am 505. Man kann also durchaus damit leben, zumal dieser Screen ein wenig besser sein soll.

Bin ein bisschen enttäuscht, dass von einem FW-Update keine Rede war. Der Daily Edition sieht jedenfalls supercool aus und es ist wohl auch mühelos möglich A4 PDFs im Landscapeview zu lesen. Warten wir's mal ab!

Toll, dass der Bibliothekszugang mit eingebaut sein wird! Zumindest für die Amerikaner ist das wohl die Killer-Application. Wäre auch gut, wenn hierzulande Bibliotheken ihre Bücher so ausleihen würden!

eBook Ausleihe in Bibliotheken gibt es auch in Deutschland (http://www.bibliothek-digital.net/) meistens allerdings noch mit einem sehr bescheidenen Angebot.

Ja, Du hast natürlich Recht. Wäre mal lansam Zeit für ein nationales Bibliotheksnetz mit grosser Auswahl und grosser Erreichbarkeit (und meinetwegen einer niedrigen Flatrate als Mitgliedsbeitrag

Ich habe in einem anderen Forum gelesen, dass die Düsseldorfer Zentralbibliothek in ihrem Ebook-Angebot schon recht ordentlich sein soll.Man kann auch als Nicht-DüsseldorferIn dort einen Bibliotheksausweis erwerben..muss allerdings fur dessen Erstellung in persona erscheinen..Einen nicht schlechten Anfang hat auch die Reutlinger Stadtbibliothek gemacht..wer also unter euch aus dem Schwäbischen kommt..diese Bücherei ist zu empfehlen

Die Frage ist, wie viel die Ebookausleihe einem Besitzer eines Sony Ebookreades nützt. Das Ausleihen wurden schon ein paar mal im Forum diskutiert, aber als Ergebnis habe ich im Kopf, das normalerweise nur PDF mit DRM angeboten werden und dies Format ließt man lieber am PC (Netbook) als auf einen Sony Ebookreader.

Ja eben. Das ist der IST-Zustand. Der Traumzustand wäre ein europaweites Bibliothekennetz, bei dem man sich gegen eine (geringe) Gebühr auch aktuelle eBooks ohne grosse Umstände ausleihen könnte!

Hi,
wie es in Düsseldorf aussieht, entzieht sich leider meiner Kenntnis..für die Bibliothek in Reutlingen weiß ich, dass Bücher im Epub Format bereitstehen ( vielleicht sind Magazine/Zeitungen eher nur als PDF Dateien vorhanden..das habe ich allerdings nicht überprüft ). Aktuell habe ich über eine Freundin Zugang zur Onleihe in Reutlingen und von dort schon einige Bücher im Epub Format ausgeliehen. Somit dürfte das für ein Sony Prs Gerät/ Cybook/ Bebook kein Problem bedeuten..

In Heidelberg Stadtbücherei habe ich gerade bei Stichproben nur eBook und ePaper als PDF gefunden, auch bei den Neuzugängen. Schade. Aber mit Epub wäre eine Bücherei sehr interessant und ich würde auch eine Jahresgebühr für den Service zahlen.

Seh ich auch so! Ich weiss allerdings andrerseits nicht, ob solch eine Bibliothek aus privater Hand finanziell tragfähig sein könnte!
