Sigil Closing Unexpectedly
Hi
This last couple of days Sigil has been closing unexpectedly much, much more often than normal. It has only done this very occasionally in the past. I do not know if it is the books I am currently editing or something else. I am on Windows 7, Sigil v0.9.9 Here is the error message Spoiler:
Could someone advise me please. |

This is most likely a Windows issue. Try the following general purpose solutions:
1. Check your hard drive(s) for errors. 2. Use CCleaner (or a similar tool) to empty your temp folder. (If you don't want to install CCleaner, press Windows+R, enter %temp% and click OK to display the temp folder.) 3. Install the latest Windows 7 updates. |

Disk Cleanup will remove old stuff from temp. On Win 10 press WinKey+S, type disk and it should show in results list. Otherwise its in Windows Admin Tools.
Also, if it's repeatable try Safe Mode - could be a 3rd party program sticking its oar in. BR |

We've fixed a lot of crashing scenarios (including the recent spate of them related to deleting things with the Reports dialog open) since the last release. It's possible you're unknowingly running into one of those situations.

Thanks for the info. Judging by how I use Sigil it is likely that it may be due to one of the above. That is if it was not due to the state of the books I was editing. They were in a bit of a state. I will investigate further. Thanks. |
