Cannot access server within my home network
All of my settings appear correct, but when I type in the http address on Chrome on my phone I get the message "err_address_unreachable". I have read everything I can find and I don't know where to go. Content server tests fine inside Calibre on laptop. I temporarily disable antivirus and firewall.Port is forwarded on router. the laptop ip address is correct. Devices are connected to same network, same bandwidth. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the Server also wireless?
Are both using the same band (2.4 or 5 GHz) Many routers block peer connections by default. You may need to change a router setting (your supplier will need to help for your model) |

The content server is on my laptop which is connected via wireless. Both the phone and the laptop are on the 2.4 GHz band. I have been through all of my routers settings, saw nothing about blocking peer to peer connections but I did not think this was considered peer-to-peer....?

You should also check that the phone is actually using the WiFi. I know in my fiddling I frequently forget to turn the WiFi back on, or have done something else that meant it was using the mobile service rather than the WiFi. The other check I would do is see if they can ping each other. You will need an app on the phone to do this. It isn't a perfect check as they can both be configured to not respond to pings. But, if it works, you know you have connectivity. Looking at the original post, you mention port forwarding. If the devices are both on the same network, that shouldn't be needed. You would normally only forward the ports to allow access from outside the network. Have you tried the public address with the port that has been forwarded? |

If the laptop is running windows then make sure that the network type is private, not public. Public networks won't accept incoming traffic.
