Calibre wont transfer
Hi team,
Hope I'm in the right area as a first time user. I have been using Calibre for years ? now, but since the update previous to the current one, I have been unable to transfer converted books to my Samsung Galaxy Tab. I need to in through File Explorer find the converted book and copy it across.

Any ideas. (Device is not being ignored - any more) This also seems to have happened since the update.

Model TAB covers almost 10 years of models. (Same goes for Kindle ) ?
Is Calibre even detecting it?
Did you unlock the screen It (and others) won't connect unless you are OFF of the Lock screen and the sleep cover is left OPEN

Calibre is detecting device. Just not allowing converted books to be tfd without going through File Explorer.

As mentioned this is a new issue that has arisen.

Check your settings as to what formats you can send to your Kindle.

After I have converted book(s) it will not allow me to Transfer direct from Calibre to my Ebook reader.

I have to go through windows explorer and copy the format across. This has only started recently. I have always been able to convert to PDF and send the converted copy to the hard drive of my reader direct from Calibre.

did a reinstall of Calibre and now working as it should.

I am trying to connect a PRS-T1 to calibre and while recognising the reader I keep getting a window which says "Error communicating with device" any help would be most appreciated

Press the details button on the error message and look at what that says. If it isn't obvious what the problem and fix is, post the details (press the copy button) for someone to look at.

Hi David,
Many thanks for replying. The situation has now changed. The reader is now recognised and appears in the window as it should but now if I load a book to the reader I get a message that the book is DRM restricted.It is also very slow and not all selected books are transferred.
d below is the error message I keep getting[Error 1117] The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error: u'E:\\Sony_Reader\\database\\cache\\books\\11\\thu mbnail'

An I/O error means your device is failing. You can try resetting it but if as is likely the hardware is failing, that wont help for long.

Hi Kovid,
Please see my previous post. My only problem now is any books I load on the reader come up DRM protected. I bought nearly my whole library from Google.
