Kindle App for Mac Removed "Download Option"

Like it says - Amazon Kindle app for Mac seems to have removed the download option for downloading books. Usually you right click on a book, and select download. Now the option is unavailable, and in the menu bar it is grayed out and unclickable. This will be a big problem for people like me who download the books to put into Calibre.

Anyone know of a workaround? Maybe buy a kindle, and download the books off the Kindle to the Mac? Is that possible? I want to still be able to use Calibre with the books I purchase from Amazon. Thanks

Since there would be no point to the app if you couldn't download books and read them I have to think something's not working right. Have you tried an uninstall/reinstall?

Are you CURRENT? Amazon made changes to their devices.
I would assume, the app would keep pace.

Maybe they just moved or renamed the option (Windows user here. And it pops a error when starting., But works)

Ok -2 issues. What happened was all my books were automatically syncing to my Kindle for Mac application, and after I changed a setting they stopped syncing. So the books that I was selecting to download were already downloaded, and did not have the download option.

But... Oddly enough, after I synced them, I checked for the download option - saw it was there, and then went back to browsing the web. Checking about 3 hours later I noticed that all 10 new books were automatically downloaded. Strange... - that never happened before. I would always have to select each one individually to download them. Works for me! Less work for me to do.

Thanks again both of you for responding
