Calibre Crashed Twice on New Install

Calibre kept crashing so I uninstalled it as well as the Calibre file in Documents & Settings. Then I installed 0.8.58 as a new install. I opened Calibre with debugging option set. It crashed twice. The last crash details are attached in the log file. I tried to understand how to create the log file. I hope it is useful.

I am using Windows XP.

Please let me know how to stop the crashes. If you need more files or information, let me know.

I don't see any errors, only conversions that succeeded

Did you start Conversions or were these books added by way of the Auto-Add folder with auto conversion?

I added these books by selecting the "add books" icon in the upper left of the toolbar. In both cases, after adding the books, when I was doing some Metadata work the program just crashed and a message came up with where the file was listed and what the problem was.

I am not sure how to run Calibre in debug mode. Kovid Goyal posted a note as follows:
"There is no debug file created by calibre-debug -g debug output is printed to stdout snd stderr use calibre-debug -g 2>&1 > log.txt
Or relaunch calibre in debug mode by clicking the arrow next to preferences, in which case a debug file will be created and automatically displayed after you quit calibre".

I Do Not Understand The Method "By Clicking The Arrow Next To Preferences". There is no arrow next to preferences. Can you explain how this works and where to find the debug file if the program crashes again?

IIRC Preferences is a double layer icon (I run a highly customized menu: menu bar, main menu, second menu) Click the first (On main Menu)
The (default) shortcut is: ctrl-Shift-R

NB ctrl-p gets you to the Real preferences screen
