Rename the Ratings column?

I have a bunch of books entered into the Calibre library with metadata. I see a Ratings column, and it's populated - presumably by other people's ratings from some database. I'd like to have it instead be *my* rating of the books. Is it possible to rename this column? Or is the best thing just to remove it from view and add a custom column called "My Rating" or something like that?

As far as I know you cannot rename existing columns.

itimpi is right. So your other suggestion of your own custom column and substituing that in the view will work. Or you can turn off importing of ratings in metadata download preferences so the existing ratings column does not get overwritten with other peoples data.

So, where does the rating actually come from? Since I'm downloading metadata from multiple sources (B&N, Goodreads, etc), what determines which one of those star ratings gets dumped into the metadata for each book?

In the PERFECT world, I would prefer ONLY the Goodreads rating shows in that column.

a little knowledge is a dangerous thing....me+Calibre=potential disaster.

The rating is calculated as an average of all the sources when you do a metadata download.

If you only want the rating from Goodreads, then go into the configuration screen for download metadata. Select each of your other metadata sources in turn on the left side of the screen, and click on the "Configure selected source" button underneath. Then untick the Rating checkbox for it, click on Save. Do that for each source you don't want ratings from.

If you don't want rating downloaded from any source, then you use the checkboxes on the right side, which act as general overrides as a faster way than individually configuring sources.
