Ich habe mir jetzt von Jules Verne - "Der Leuchtturm am Ende der Welt" heruntergeladen, die "neue" Version von Amazon und die von zeno. Auf dem ersten Blick fällt auf, dass die zeno-Version Illustrationen und Fußnoten hat.

Kann man generell davon ausgehen, dass die von zeno besser sind?

Die von Zeno waren schon immer gut, sie sind manuell bearbeitet, während die Gutenbergquellen so aussehen, als wären sie einfach durch ein Programm gejagt worden. Und Zeno kostet ja bei anderen Anbietern nach wie vor 1,99 pro Buch. Nur nicht bei Amazon.

Dafür wird Amazon an Zeno bezahlt haben, wie auch für die Nutzung der Gutenbergquellen.

Damit die Amazonklassiker wirklich gut aussehen, muß man sie noch einmal mit Sigil überarbeiten. Was nicht bei allen geht, weil einige mit DRM versehen sind.

Am Cover. Das von Gutenberg/Amazon ist zweifarbig, oberes Drittel mit dem Titel, darunter Autor, das von Zeno ist gelb.

Illustrierte Version der "Vestalinnen" (leider auch nur die ersten drei Bände) gibt's gratis bei Amazon, aber Band 2 und 3 sind versteckt (+ anklicken) Sehr gut umgesetzt.
Wäre schön, wenn noch jemand die verbliebenen Bände hätte und irgendwo hoch laden würde.

"Tausend und eine Nacht" in 4 Bänden ist ebenfalls sehr ansprechend gemacht, auch mit Illustrationen.

Ich hatte mir auch schon den ersten Band "gekauft", mir fehlt jetzt noch der kindle.

Kommt natürlich von hier. Ungefähr 200 Kapitel, was für eine Arbeit hat Amazon einem da erspart!

Vermutlich hast Du keinen Premiumversand bei Amazon. Manchmal lohnt sich das.

Das finde ich auch irgendwie übertrieben, Amazon ist so schon ziemlich schnell. Früher (vor Premium) waren die Pakete fast immer am nächsten Tag da, jetzt sind sie nach zwei Tagen da, immer noch ok.

Amazon tendiert aber neuerdings die Pakete per Hermes zu versenden. Die legen hier die Pakete einfach vor die Tür, wenn keiner da ist.

Ich habe Premium allein schon wegen der wegfallenden Grenze für den kostenlosen Versand gewählt. Früher kam dann meist noch was dazu, was ich gar nicht brauchte, nur um auf die 20 € zu kommen.

Und Hermes finde ich auch schräg. Sind zwar bei Amazon schneller als bei Pocketbook, aber merwürdige Gestalten in merkwürdigen Fahrzeugen …

Nochmal ne Frage zur Formatierung der Zeno/Gutenberg Bücher. Habe gerade beide Versionen "Der Kurier des Czaar" runtergeladen, und zumindest bei K4PC sieht die Gutenberg-Version (mit dem 2 farbigen Cover) deutlich besser aus. Die Zeno Version hat zwar noch schöne Illustrationen drin, dafür aber auch überall Seitenzahlen im Taxt verstreut.
Ist das typisch oder jetzt nur Zufall bei diesem Buch? Persönlich finde ich, das es nichts nervigeres gibt, um den Lesefluss zu unterbrechen
