Pair a Bluetooth Keyboard to Kindle Paperwhite 4

Hi,

I've just got a Kindle Paperwhite 4. This model has a bluetooth on board but natively it doesn't allow to connect a bluetooth keyboard (only audio devices).

The first thing I did after buying it - jailbreak. It's allowed me to install kterm. Via kterm I found a utility on the kindle called "btui" (see attachments).

I've scanned for devices using command #3 and it found my "Logitech" keyboard. Unfortunately, I was not able to understand the command #6 (Pair) - it did nothing.

So, is it possible to connect a bluetooth keyboard to kindle paperwhite 4? Any ideas on how to do it? May be we can install a custom bluetooth drivers, etc?

1) Build the missing kernel modules for the BT interfaces.
2) Build and install a general purpose BT stack (Bluez is such a stack).

Note 1: On newer(est) kernels, 1 & 2 may already be combined in the kernel source.

3) Add and test out any up-start scripts needed.
4) Add and/or modify u-dev rules as required.

Note 2: Don't expect anyone except yourself to be interested in generalizing the Amazon/Lab126 Blue Tooth implementation.
I have not been able to stir up any interest since BT first appeared on the Kindles.

As a matter of practicality, the easiest way to use an external keyboard with an eInk device is to get a generic Android device that supports USB OTG, of which there are quite a few.

I'm also interested in this as I have a BT keyboard + PW4 and hate tapping the screen to change screens. Subscribing to this thread for sure.

Is there such a thing as a USB bluetooth adapter that just presents itself as a USB keyboard and completely hides its bluetooth to keyboard connection? That would probably work. They certainly have such a thing for audio, a bluetooth adapter that has 3.5mm audio out and all the bluetooth "stuff" is contained in the adapter itself.

I recently got an adapter that lets you connect a usb keyboard and sends the signal by bluetooth, though I don't know that is what you want or does what you are saying.

I posted a photo in the onyx section in the keyboard thread.

Kind of related: any way to use a bluetooth MOUSE to advanced pages? Or the only way to do that currently is to use lazy kindle with a usb adapter?
