As of this morning all of my logins within the Overdrive Plugin search function now fail with the messages:

Cannot perform search at GLDL OD due to sign in failure

The Overdrive Plugin started failing this past Monday Aug 19 2019. I use it to find books by title in the various libraries I have a card for. It's worked great up until this past Monday. The login screens for all of the libraries I have access to changed and I assume some other things may have changed as well. Any way the Plugin now fails with the following error:

I'm getting the same error. It started this past Monday. I noticed that the OVERDRIVE Logon screen for all the Libraries I have access to changed at that time. At a guess I'd say they changed something internally.

It looks like OverDrive made significant changes to the login process of their site. It will take me a while to adapt the plugin to this.

Version 2.34.0 - 22 Aug 2019

Handle website change at OverDrive. Sign in using an OverDrive account instead of a library-specific account is no longer supported. This fix is not fully tested. Further changes may be required. (Fixes "Server response error (missing "script id=model")")

Internal changes in preparation for the planned switch in calibre from Python 2 to Python 3.

This release contains a possible fix for the OverDrive library sign in problem, but it may not be complete. I am only able to test with my own local library.

As part of this change I had to disable the feature to sign in using an OverDrive account (email/password). If you have been using this sign in method than you will need to use the credentials (card number/pin) for each individual OverDrive library instead.

I installed the latest version of the Overdrive Plugin, restarted Calibre and the error no longer occurs. I have access to 4 different libraries and it's working for them all. Thank You!!

Thanks for the fast fix. I updated and used it to renew a borrow with no problems, and no restart needed.

It would be highly coincidental if my library branch ID has changed but since this last fix it is being rejected. I followed the instructions to get a list of the branches but the list does not contain the branch ID's as I believe it used to. So this is either a coincidence or part of the new login process is still broken. here is the log for the list produced when no branch ID is supplied in the Customize plugin dialog.

Overdrive Link found: No changes.

The log shows that the sign in was successful without a branch ID.

It appears that branch IDs are no longer used for your library consortium under the new sign in system.
