You did not ask a question, or mention what, if anything, you want in return for your post.

I will answer your question, as best as I can:
It is now a spare screen.
The fatal voltage regulator message is just that, a fatal hardware error.

I could access Recovery Menu by using PW2's diags_kernel image, but failed at Exporting FAT partition, my Kindle just said CHARGER CONNECTED or CHARGER DISCONNECTED when I plugged the usb cable in and out.
Then I tried the uImage kernel image and set bootmode to main, and I got the log I posted.
================================================== ===
Is this a REAL hardware error or just software error(caused by wrong kernel and hardware drivers)?
================================================== ===
I just got this brand new Kindle last week, it halted when I was reading a PDF, one day after a JB.-_-

Return it in exchange for a new one.
Do not put the same pdf on the next Kindle until you read up on how to deal with a 'bad book'.

The only thing wrong with it to begin with was a 'bad book' -
Until you screwed things up by forcing portions of the wrong firmware onto the device.

So you mean there's nothing I can do to get it back to life, the only available way is asking for an official after-sale service by now.

I read about the fastboot and flashing the kernel, system and diags. So i get the Kindle in the fastboot mode and install the driver on my Windows PC. Fastboot is working and i also can read the serial nr over fastboot.

So far so good, but i cant get the images out of the update_kindle_5.6.1.1.bin.
(5.6.1.1 ist the SW version that was installed on the PW3)
I used the kindletool to extract the .bin but failed at unpack the fwo_rootfs.img to create the images for flasing.

Can someone help me creating the images by a step by step tut or a link where i can get this images?

Sorry for my bad english.

Regards Max
Can you please give me a link to download and install the driver on my Windows PC. Fastboot driver

I just wanted to thank you guys for documenting this so well.

My mother-in-law had a PW3 (with 3G) that wouldn't boot past the 'boy under the tree' page. I couldn't get the FAT32 partition to mount at all - it'd show up as an empty drive when the kindle was flat.
I had run out of options other than the serial route. Amazon support of course had given up.

Today I went down the serial rabbit hole and like and idiot, wiped the whole MMC straight away (high 5!).

But... following this thread - I now have it back up and running.

Same problem. Don't know what to do.

Same solution, provide enough details that someone else can duplicate your problem.

At a minimum:
First six characters of the device's serial number (if device is not running, the serial number can be found on the box and/or on the "Manage Your Devices" web page of your Amazon account).

Full name of each software / firmware package, plus a download link so the person doing the review can duplicate what you have done.

A complete list of what you have done and the results of each step.

OR
Just list it for sale on e-bay as "broke, for parts only".
