Is this a legit Kobo Aura One offer on ebay?

Hello, this is my first post. So first of all I'd like to thank the community and moderators for this wonderful resources. General searches do not help that much when trying to pick a best ereader and most of the popular articles are very shallow. Really glad to have stumbled upon this forum.

My final choice was between Inkpad 2 and Kobo Aura One, but I've finally decided that Text-to-Speech isn't a neccesary function for me and Kobo Aura One with Koreader seems to offer a really good and flexible reading experience for both adapted(epub, mobi) and pdf books.

Anyway, most of the places I saw Kobo Aura One being sold for ~250 euro and I saw this. http://www.ebay.de/itm/KOBO-Aura-One...gAAOSwx2VZfy9Z

It's only 200 euro, but I am not sure if I would be getting a legit product. Please offer your input.

When buying from eBay, make sure you use PayPal or a credit card in case it's not legit and you don't get what you expect and you have issues with the seller. Then you can go to PayPal or your credit card company to get refunded.

Interestingly, I have had an experience, where I bought a phone from ebay, it had quite a common problem among this model of phone, which made it unusable. Owner refused to send money back, saying that I broke it. Paypal wouldn't dispute it and I had to do it through ebay, which refused my request for refund.

Hopefully someone from Germany or nearby can comment on the Kobo Aura One in the first post.

You can buy it!
This seller is a big and well known electronic company in Germany. If they sell on ebay or here:
http://www.mediamarkt.de/
is same security. You can mail and ask them too

So why did you buy the phone if it has a known flaw?

I had an issue with a seller once. I bought something that was listed to be like new and it wasn't like new. I went back to the seller and had a go round with the seller. I then went to PayPal and not only did I get my money back, I was able keep the item.

Nobody is going to be able to tell you if that listing it legit because it looks legit.

The reader is cheaper because it used to be their floor model. This is what the word "Aussteller" means. Mediamarkt is a well known and big company, AFAIK the biggest in consumer electronics we have. Go for it.

Because at the moment, there's no other phone available which I would prefer to have (at least until Galaxy Note 8 is released). It was a mistake buying a used "good condition" one. Luckily, I was able to find an unused one and now am happily using one.

Thank you. Could you explain the connection between it being a model they used for demonstration in their shops (if I got that right) and it being cheaper?

If they are like Chapters/Indigo here in Canada, it was on a display stand where people could pick it up and try reading, changing fonts and sizes, etc. Consider it as lightly (hopefully...) used.

The words "legit" and "ebay" rarely belong in the same sentence.

The maxims "If it appears too good to be true, then it probably is" and "Buyer beware" are especially true when it comes to sites like ebay. Stick with known reputable dealers to avoid getting ripped off.

PayPal and ebay are owed by the same company, and PayPal has a well-deserved reputation for jerking its customers around, so definitely stick with credit card if you think an ebay purchase may not be on the up and up. Or better yet, buy only from reputable dealers and avoid the ebay/PayPall scam altogether.

I buy and sell a lot on eBay and have only once had a problem: a buyer who won the auction and then didn't pay - I relisted the item and the second time around everything went fine.

Buy from sellers with good feedback and you'll be fine.
