[Feature Request] Arrange Books in Cover Grid with Drag/Drop

Drag & Drop to rearrange books once in library?
Has this ever been considered?
For example, it would be helpful to drag and drop "priority" reads near the top of the library (cover brower, but really any View) or group them visually. Currently, I have the View set to display most recently added at the top, and the only way to gain this functionality is to manually edit the metadata to manipulate the Date Added to a more current date.

Use the Reading List plugin.

I don't get it. Unless I am missing something, this is not drag & drop to rearrange the order books are in your main library. This can create a list, but so do virtual libraries. I would love to be able to rearrange books in the All Books by dragging and dropping. Might not be possible.

The GUI is SORTED by a column value. If you don't pick a column to use for the sort, it defaults to {id} , which was assigned when the book was added.

You can't change a value by dragging.
If you want a arbitrary sort, then you make a custom column to populate with a value that you can later sort. I believe this is what reading list does

Aside from sorting by a specific column, Calibre can't put books in an arbitrary order. Adding a book to a manual reading list allows you to arrange them the way you like and then view the list.

Maybe it's possible to have Action Chain "move selected books to top/bottom [for default list]" and refresh, but it's in a sub window, not sure how you can trigger it...

A "Top 20" Layout option, something like the Cover Browser option, but a mini Cover Grid into which the user can have up to twenty books, which can be arbitrarily arranged. I would use for frequently accessed reference texts.
