Listener Light Plan

I was considering downgrading my Audible membership to the Listener Light plan, but it looks like the only reason to pay Audible $10 a year is to postpone the use of my existing credits.

Am I correct that I wouldn't get 30-percent-off membership prices or access to ANY of the sales? If that's the case, I might as well use up the credits I have (I'm coming off a three-month hiatus in another week), cancel, and then use a free trial offer next time a good one pops up. Is there any advantage to the Light plan that I'm missing? Thanks.

I have been using the basic listener plan ($10 a year) for the last 10 years. I get a member discount when I buy a book. I assume that the listener light plan is the same as the basic listener plan.

It seems to be a different plan, no longer an option under the current monthly or yearly memberships, per Audible's plan terms.

FWIW, I used up my credits and cancelled my membership yesterday and this morning my Audible front page offered me two months at 99¢/month. Cancelling might well trigger an offer for you, too.

Sounds good. I'm leaning toward canceling instead of switching membership plans, if I can manage to use up my remaining credits in the next few days.

I'm waiting for my last credit from the free Groupon offer. Once I get it, I'll spend it, cancel my membership, then sign up for the $0.99 promo. Gotta finish the Harry Potter series.
