Touch Hd3 library not recognizing 1 of 4 books in a series

I am going nuts here

I use Calibri to maintain ebooks, and I have a 'Series' which has 4 books in it. All is setup fine in Calibri: they have their own title, and they have their 'Series'-name set, and the number is 1, 2, 3 and 4.

The bizarre thing is; only 1 3 and 4 show their Series name in the Pocketbook library app: number 2 does not show anything that indicates it belongs to a series.

Any idea anyone?

Update epub metadata in Calibre. Or create new epub there.

Try polishing the book in Calibre. Then the metadata should be recognized by the Pocketbook.

AFAIK Calibre either saves the metadata directly in an EPUB's OPF file or saves it in a separate OPF file in the Calibre Library. If Calibre does not updates the tags in the OPF file then Pocketbook of course won't display the tags you changed with Calibre.
So that's why you have to use either the Polish or Embed metadata features. They can be activated from Preferences → Toolbars & menus → Choose a toolbar/menu

I did not know about the Polish feature, thanks

But it didn't seem to help... Again, I have no idea why PB is not showing the Series info.

Here are some screenshots:

First, the Calibre overview:

Second, how the library on the PB shows these four books:

Strange, right?

Solution... get to reading the first and second eBooks so you can delete the problem eBook from your Reader.

Maybe... convert book 2 to a different format , like mobi. Then delete ‘just’ the ePub format. Now convert the book to ePub. Delete book 2 from your device, eject the device, plug back in, copy over new ePub.

No clue if it will actually help, but will satisfy some OCD, at least for 3 minutes or so.

Converting epub to mobi, deleting the epub, re-converting mobi to epud, copying epub to device... that worked! Absolutely no idea why, maybe it's just a bug but damn this is satisfying

First: ePub3 series info is not recognized by PB.
Second: check ePub metadata in calibre editor, find the two lines representing the series info, and rearrange them in name - content pairs properly. The reverse (content - name) apperently STILL does not work on a PB. An age long issue.
Third (optional): you might also want to move those two lines to the end of their section, or other metadata (like genre) might not show up on PB.
