PRS-T1 trying to make cifs module work

I wanted to mount samba shares in my pc. Downloaded kernel sources from sony site. Made arm toolchain and compiled custom kernel with cifs module. But how can i boot my kernel? There is serial mode in imx50 to upload boot images but i don't know hot to activate it. In kindle 4 forums, they do it with some button combinations. But for sony t1 it only boots into recovery mode with shell.

I tried to load cifs module. But it says some symbol are missing. Therefore i need to boot custom kernel for symbol dependencies.

In conclusion i need to change kernel in t1. Any information about this subject is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for answer. I wanted to do reverse of what you say. Mount windows shares in t1. With this, i could play mp3s which are stored in my pc. There are some programs which can access windows shares (andsmb). They only access windows shares and you download what files you need. But what i want to do mount windows share into a folder in t1. So i can access files from every android program. (like mp3 player, image viewer etc..)
