My PRS-600 makes a sound
Hello everyone,
Last night while I was reading with my 600 it was really quiet in my room and sometimes I was hearing a small sound. I didn't knew where it was coming from so I put the reader next to my ear to hear if it makes any noise. Nothing at all. I continued reading but then I have noticed that there was a sound coming from the reader only when I was pressing the touch screen for looking up words into dictionary, changing pages, going back and so on. It was like I was having a small cricket trapped inside. Does anyone else noticed this sound? |

Yep mine makes that noise as well when you touch the screen. Gives me a buzz at nighttime.
If you turn the unit over, take the back off and use a microscope you will see thousands of small crickets actually processing your touch entries. Anyone for Cricket Techi Bit: I should add, it is probably because the touch sensor is using a low frequency to XY coordinate where your finger or pen has actually touched the screen. This is then resonating on something inside the unit. i.e. Normal behaviour for Sony Reader, although in most touch products you can't actually hear it.
