Thank you. Yes, boxes like that are common in places like office supply shops in Britain. I hadn't heard them referred to as "photo boxes" before, though.

Well, to be honest, I don't see that adding the word "photo" to the name tells someone unfamiliar with the product anything at all about the size or shape of the box .

As to your other post, no it says nothing about size or shape but gives people an idea of what they can store in them. At times, the naming makes a price difference.

Let's talk small tackle boxes vs floss boxes vs bead boxes.
There is pretty much one difference. The price. They are all similarly configured.
Tool satchels vs yarn totes. Again same idea.
Anything labeled for primarily a woman's use will be priced higher than the equivalent for a man's use.

Personally, I find "Box with lid (27x35x15 cm)" to be a more informative description, but that's just me .

Personally, you are so correct. It would be much more helpful.
*Inches instead of cm would be a help too in the US.

The boxes are sized to make it easy to store 4x6 photos. The photos go in archival-quality organizers like this, and then those organizers fit in the boxes. I used the boxes to organize all the originals of old family photos. Then I discovered that paperbacks lined up in them perfectly and used them to organize my bookshelves.
